Spam!  |  November 2006

3z.net has now teamed up with Ironport Systems, Inc. to help eliminate the problem spam causes for your company.

As threat writers use constantly evolving techniques to penetrate companies' existing defenses, email threats have expanded beyond simple nuisance spam. IronPort Anti-Spam™ combines best-of-breed conventional techniques with IronPort's breakthrough context-sensitive detection technology, to eliminate the broadest range of known and emerging email threats.

3z.net residential customers already get this protection by default, however if your organization is interested in improving productivity and eliminating spam from your daily headaches, contact 3z.net for more information.

Stop Spam!  |  March 2004

We are proud to announce that 3z.net now has an Anti-Spam service.
The Anti-Spam service will go on-line on March 12th. This service is now
included in the residential accounts at no additional charge. Business
customers should contact 3z.net to discuss pricing for their business email.

If you are concerned about legitimate emails being blocked from the
system we understand this concern. The system we have chosen has a 99%
successful blocking rate and should not block legitimate emails. However,
with any system there is always that minute possibility that something could
get blocked that is valid. We have been running the system internally for
over a month with great success. Listed below are a few options you
have if you do not want to have the default option of SPAM being deleted.

1. We can turn off SPAM protection from your email address completely.

2. We can tag all SPAM messages with a new subject of [***SPAM***].
This way you will still receive all SPAM messages, but you will
be able to see what has been tagged. Then over time you can decide
if you want to change the way SPAM is being sent to you.

3. Business Customers have a few more options that we can discuss with you
upon a telephone call.

Zoomtown Upgrades    |  March 2004
ZoomTown high-speed Internet service is getting even better. We're increasing the base ZoomTown connection speeds. All residential connections will now be upgraded to 3Mbps*. Business customers will have the ability to order 1.544Mbps* or 3Mbps*.

*Download speeds will continue to vary based on line conditions, distance from CBT equipment, and personal PC settings for each subscriber.

Will my bill go up?
Absolutely NOT! We are giving you the speed increase up to 4x your current speed for the same price. Please visit our product pages for exact costs.

How do I upgrade?
You do not have to do anything. Zoomtown will start the speed upgrade in March and should be completed by March 31st.

What if I have trouble connecting after the upgrade?
You shouldn't. But if you do, this should take care of it:
1. Shut down your ZoomTown modem and all computers connected to it.
2. Turn your ZoomTown modem back on and wait until the green lights are on.
3. Turn your computers back on.

That's all there is to it. If you're still experiencing problems, call the ZoomTown Help Desk - 513-397-HELP (4357).

What about security?
Your ZoomTown service will remain as secure as it's always been.
The always-on conversion simply makes it more convenient.

Zoomtown Upgrades  |  December 2002

ZoomTown high-speed Internet service is getting even better. We're automating the ZoomTown log-on process so you'll have instant access to the Internet whenever you turn on your computer. Just follow these simple instructions.

How do I upgrade?

Upgrading is free and easy. Here's how - Shut off your ZoomTown modem and all computers connected to it before midnight each night next week. Leave them off until at least 5 A.M. That's all there is to it. The conversion takes place completely through the network. There are no hardware changes and nothing that requires at trip to our store. Once your ZoomTown service has been converted, it will always be on.

What if I don't shut down when I'm supposed to?

Your ZoomTown service will no longer operate properly until you shut down and restart your Zoomtown Modem.

What happens when I log back on?

After the upgrade, your computer will automatically connect with the Internet - there's no need to go through the log-on procedure you've used in the past. Our new, friendlier landing page is the signal that the conversion is complete. Once you open your web browser and see this page, you no longer need to shut down for the night.

What if I have trouble connecting?

You shouldn't. But if you do, this should take care of it:

  1. Shut down your ZoomTown modem and all computers connected to it.
  2. Turn your ZoomTown modem back on and wait until the green lights are on.
  3. Turn your computers back on.

That's all there is to it. If you're still experiencing problems, call the ZoomTown Help Desk - 513-397-HELP (4357).

What about security?

Your ZoomTown service will remain as secure as it's always been.
The always-on conversion simply makes it more convenient.

Allegiance Internet Announcement  |  August 6th, 2002

Dear 3z.net Customers,

In a continued effort to increase internet reliability and uptime, our main upstream provider is performing an upgrade on their network on August 7th and August 10th from 12:01 am to 8:00 am EST. During this time connectivity to the internet could be sporadic for a significant time period. I have included the letter from Allegiance, formally Digex for you to review.

During this same time we will be performing upgrades to our backbone as well. During our upgrades we will be implementing another connection to the internet. This new internet connection will provide true redundancy to the internet. If either connection fails, the other connection will pickup the slack.

As always, we welcome any feedback you have about 3z.net. Please send us an email help@3z.net if you have any questions, or call us @ 859-814-0036.

Sincerely,
The 3z.net Team

Allegiance Internet Announcement of Extended Maintenance Window for Wednesday, August 7, 2002 and Saturday, August 10, 2002 12:01AM ET -

08:00AM ET Allegiance Internet will be making mission-critical improvements to our nationwide network during these two extended maintenance windows. This will result in significant periods of service disruption (outage) throughout the network while these major initiatives are ongoing. During these maintenance events, we will be implementing certain network-wide routing policy changes. This will enable us to increase service reliability and to combine the multiple disparate IP networks we now operate into a single more efficient backbone. We will also be reducing our dependency on certain third-party long haul carrier circuits by replacing them with Allegiance Telecom operated facilities. We ask for your continued understanding during these extended maintenance windows. We feel we must make these changes now in order to ensure that we can continue to deliver you reliable Internet services in the future.

NKY changes name to 3z.net  |  June 1st, 2000

Dear NKY.net Customers,

As of June 1st NKY.net has changed its name to 3z.net, a PCD Company. What does this mean for you? You will see no disruption in service, it is just a physical name change. However, if you currently have an email address that ends in @NKY.net you now have the opportunity to switch your email address to @3z.net. You do not have to switch it, and we will not get rid of the NKY.net email domain. We will be shutting down the NKY.net website, and pointing it over to 3z.net, once the new 3z.net website is functional. We will also be switching the Zoomtown login screen from NKY.net to 3z.net. This may effect the current login programs like Zoom Spy. We are going to contact as many of the creators as possible, and let them know of the change. If you have any problems, feel free to contact us.

Thank you,
The 3z.net Technical Staff
